Safety and Health is a national trade organization dedicated exclusively to construction safety and health, built to protect every construction worker by empowering workers and enabling construction companies.
The Problem:
Construction has been the deadliest industry in America, and the trend hasn't changed.
Construction's fatal injury rate is nearly three times the all-industry rate.
Construction recorded 1,034 worker fatalities in 2024, more than any other industry, and over 1,000 construction deaths in each of the last several years.
Recordable injuries have fallen sharply since the 1990s, while the fatality rate has barely moved.
Even as annual construction spending climbed past $2 trillion, inspections fell by roughly half over the last decade.
The lesson is plain:
compliance alone is not working.
Regulations are the bare minimum, not the goal.
For three decades, injury rates have fallen while fatality rates have not. Safety and Health exists to take the construction industry beyond the minimum, to treat safety as a function of operational excellence, not a box to check.
